About Us

The HBBA is all about helping you take your business to the next level. We do this through Networking, Education and mutual Support. There are other networking groups out there but the HBBA has learned how to master the different parts to networking and we are focused on building strong relationships that carry beyond the business and are benficial to all of our members.

The HBBA believes in supporting our local communities and through volunteering and charitable contributions the HBBA has become a leader in community service

The best way for you to learn more about the HBBA is for you to stop and visit a few of our chapters. Stop in see what is going on, kick a few tires and then find a chapter that best meets your needs.

If you can’t find a chapter in your area that meets your needs please feel free to contact our Chapter Development Chair and we will be more than happy to help you get your very own HBBA chapter started.

One other thing about the HBBA is .....

We Like to Have Fun!!!

History

HBBA initially formed out of a focus group sponsored by the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce in 1998. Initially the purpose of this group was to meet to share ideas about how their businesses began, problems they encountered, and finding solutions to those problems together. When a neighboring town government began upgrading its ordinance, restricting its perception of legitimate home-based business to that which was defined in the mid 1900's, HBBA leadership, with the support of its members, made a stand and addressed the issues in town meetings and took an active role in protecting the rights of small businesses.

Without forgetting our origins regarding the Home Based Businesses of our area, in 2006 the HBBA turned its focus to new roles in the business world. In 2006 we redefined our purpose and image and planted the seeds for a new future. The results paid off quickly with new chapters sprouting up in the Fox Valley area. By 2010, interest was building in the Milwaukee area and HBBA had to reinvent itself once more to meet the needs of our members. Districts were formed to allow each area the ability to address the unique needs of area businesses while maintaining our strong relationships, ideals and culture.

Now open to all Wisconsin Businesses, large and small, the HBBA has become the experts in Networking. With a continued focus on educating and supporting its members, the HBBA is quickly becoming the number one resource for word of mouth advertising in Wisconsin. The HBBA is continually adapting to keep up with the ever changing market needs of our members and communities.

Focusing on education, resources for members, and business to business networking the HBBA continues to grow in purpose and numbers as we enter the next era of business.

With over 25 chapters in Wisconsin HBBA is poised to become the most influential networking organization in the state of Wisconsin and anticipates growth to accelerate in the near future.
